The customer base is growing for three operators in Bangladesh, with the exception of Teletalk.
Over the past three months, the number of Teletalk customers has been decreasing steadily. However, the customer bases of the other three mobile operators, namely Grameenphone, Robi, and Banglalink, have been growing. According to the latest statistics from the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) for June, Grameenphone had 8 crore 14 lakh 50 thousand customers, Robi had 5 crore 63 lakh 50 thousand, Banglalink had 4 crore 18 lakh 10 thousand, and Teletalk had 64 lakh 90 thousand customers.
In this month, the total number of mobile phone customers in the country has reached 18 crores 61 lacks. In May, Grameenphone had 8 crores 12 lakh 40 thousand customers, Robi had 5 crores 92 lakh 20 thousand, Banglalink had 4 crores 14 lakh 20 thousand, and Teletalk had 65 lakh 40 thousand. In April, Grameenphone had 8 crores 59 lakh 90 thousand customers, Robi had 5 crores 72 lakh 20 thousand, Banglalink had 4 crores 13 lakh 20 thousand, and Teletalk had 65 lakh 70 thousand.
In March, Grameenphone had 8 crores 30 lakh customers, Robi had 5 crores 57 lakh 70 thousand, Banglalink had 4 crores 13 lakh 90 thousand, and Teletalk had 66 lakh 30 thousand. Looking at the statistics, it’s evident that Teletalk lost 60 thousand customers in April, 30 thousand in May, and 50 thousand in June. During this period, all other operators have shown a consistent increase in their customer numbers, except for Banglalink, which lost 70 thousand customers in April.
